College of Sharia Publishes Second Issue of Its Peer-Reviewed Scientific Journal

As part of its ongoing commitment to promoting scientific research and advancing academic publishing, the College of Sharia and Law at the Islamic University of Minnesota - Main Center has published the second issue of the Journal of Sharia and Law, the College’s peer-reviewed scientific journal dedicated to publishing high-quality research in the fields of Islamic Sharia and Law. The journal provides a distinguished academic platform for researchers from both within and outside the University.

In the editorial of the new issue, Professor Dr. Muzahim Tariq Al-Mustafa, Editor-in-Chief, emphasized that scientific research is one of the fundamental pillars of civilization and national progress. He noted that the publication of this issue reflects the University's mission to encourage scholarly production and support the dissemination of academic research in accordance with internationally recognized academic standards, thereby contributing to the advancement of knowledge and strengthening the role of higher education institutions in addressing contemporary intellectual and scientific issues.

The issue features seven peer-reviewed research papers covering a wide range of topics in Islamic jurisprudence, law, constitutional studies, and international law. Among the subjects discussed are: the impact of the severance of diplomatic relations on international treaties; denial of justice in conflicts of judicial jurisdiction; the reversal of judicial rulings in Islamic jurisprudence and positive law; the evolving role of the armed forces in safeguarding the civil nature of the state; transitional justice in the Syrian context; the legal ruling on marriage to a woman from the People of the Book in non-Muslim lands; and reconciliation in crimes involving offenses against public funds under Yemeni law.

The journal is headed by Professor Dr. Muzahim Tariq Al-Mustafa, supported by an academic and editorial board composed of distinguished faculty members and researchers from the Islamic University of Minnesota. This reflects the journal’s role as a reputable scholarly publication committed to disseminating peer-reviewed research in accordance with recognized academic standards.
