Research Proposal on Use of Artificial Intelligence in Physics Education
The Deanship of Graduate Studies at the Islamic University of Minnesota - Main Center held a scientific seminar session on Sunday evening, May 3, 2026, to discuss the research proposal submitted by researcher Ali El-Shboul, a PhD candidate in the Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence at the Faculty of Computers and Information Systems. The proposal was entitled: “The Effectiveness of Using AI-Supported Interactive Digital Analogies in Developing Physics Concepts Achievement and Logical Thinking Skills among Secondary School Students.”
The seminar, which was conducted via the Zoom platform, witnessed distinguished academic participation from specialists and researchers interested in artificial intelligence and its educational applications, particularly in relation to developing science teaching methods and enhancing students’ analytical and critical thinking skills.
The research proposal explored mechanisms for employing interactive digital analogies supported by artificial intelligence technologies to improve secondary school students’ understanding of physics concepts, in addition to examining the impact of these applications on the development of logical thinking skills. The study aligns with modern educational trends aimed at integrating smart technologies into the learning environment and enhancing the efficiency of digital education.
The seminar discussion committee was chaired by Dr. Bushra Sharif, Head of the Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, and included Dr. Mohammed Al-Qudah, Dr. Mohammed Abaz, and Dr. Khaled Al-Afandi as committee members.
The session featured several scholarly discussions and academic observations emphasizing the significance and originality of the research topic, as well as its anticipated contribution to advancing modern teaching methodologies and benefiting from artificial intelligence technologies in building more interactive and effective learning environments.
