Department of Islamic Studies (English Medium) Holds Academic Meeting

As part of its preparations for the start of the new academic semester, the Department of Islamic Studies (English Medium) at the College of Islamic Studies, Islamic University of Minnesota - Main Center, held an academic meeting chaired by Dr. Manal Mostafa, Head of the Department, with the participation of faculty members. The meeting focused on a number of academic and administrative matters aimed at enhancing the quality of the educational process, improving academic performance, and ensuring a successful start to the new academic year.

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Manal Mostafa welcomed the faculty members and expressed her appreciation for their continued efforts in supporting the Department's mission. She emphasized the importance of maintaining academic discipline and delivering lectures according to the approved schedule, noting that regularity in teaching is essential to ensuring a stable and effective learning environment.

Dr. Mostafa also stressed the importance of fostering active engagement in virtual classrooms through the effective use of modern teaching methods and educational technologies. She encouraged faculty members to provide students with opportunities for discussion and questions, while closely monitoring student attendance and communicating with absent students to identify the reasons for their absence and provide the necessary academic support.

The meeting included a review of the Department's ongoing efforts to develop curricula and university textbooks. Participants discussed mechanisms for updating course content and preparing academic textbooks that align with program requirements and recognized academic standards. Faculty members were encouraged to contribute their ideas and recommendations to further enrich and continuously improve the academic content.

Participants also discussed the assessment system for the semester, which includes coursework, attendance and participation marks, and online examinations. The meeting emphasized the importance of preparing both primary and alternative examination versions in accordance with approved academic regulations to ensure fairness, accuracy, and reliability in student assessment.

In faculty affairs, the Department welcomed its newly appointed faculty members and congratulated several colleagues on earning their doctoral degrees. The meeting also announced the appointment of Dr. Mohiy Al-Din Hamza as Deputy Head of the Department, a step aimed at strengthening the Department's academic and administrative leadership and supporting its continued development.

On the administrative side, Dr. Mostafa emphasized the importance of regularly following official announcements and directives issued through the University's official communication channels and ensuring their timely implementation. She also announced the adoption of a daily follow-up system designed to strengthen communication among faculty members and promote higher standards of professional commitment and organizational effectiveness.
