Department of Sunnah Continues Preparations for the 2026-2027 Academic Year

As part of its early preparations for the First Semester of the 2026-2027 Academic Year, the Department of Sunnah and Its Sciences at the College of Islamic Studies, Islamic University of Minnesota - Main Center, continued a series of academic meetings chaired by Dr. Majed bin Obaid Al-Sulami, Head of the Department, with the participation of faculty members. These meetings were held within the framework of the department's strategic plan to enhance academic readiness, finalize the development of its undergraduate curriculum, and further improve the quality of its academic programs and educational outcomes.
At the outset of the meetings, Dr. Majed bin Obaid Al-Sulami commended the dedicated efforts of the department's faculty members in advancing its academic mission. Faculty members examined the existing courses and discussed proposals to introduce specialized courses in Hadiths of Acts of Worship, Hadiths of Transactions, and Hadiths of Family Matters, while also expanding the practical component of Hadith studies. Keeping pace with contemporary technological and scientific developments, the meetings explored mechanisms for integrating digital applications and artificial intelligence technologies into the fields of Islamic Studies and Hadith Sciences. Participants emphasized that these topics should be introduced at advanced academic levels appropriate to students' educational development. They also reaffirmed the importance of the systematic study of the books of the Prophetic Sunnah and the continuous enhancement of course specifications to strengthen disciplinary identity and promote greater academic integration.
