Department of Islamic Studies in Arabic Holds Academic Meeting

As part of its preparations for the launch of the 2026-2027 academic year, the Department of Islamic Studies in Arabic at the Islamic University of Minnesota - Main Center held an academic meeting on Monday evening, June 15, 2026, chaired by Dr. Fatima Juma Al-Wahsh, Chair of the Department, with the participation of the department’s faculty members. The meeting focused on discussing the academic and organizational preparations for the beginning of the semester and enhancing the department’s readiness to ensure a successful start to the new academic year.

At the outset of the meeting, Dr. Al-Wahsh welcomed the faculty members and expressed her appreciation for their academic and educational contributions. She emphasized that achieving academic excellence depends on teamwork, effective collaboration, and continuous coordination among all members of the department, in alignment with the University's mission and vision of promoting educational quality and institutional excellence.

The meeting addressed a number of key academic matters, including recent developments in the educational process, academic plans, course specifications, and mechanisms for implementing them in accordance with approved academic standards. Discussions also covered the organization of class schedules, the enhancement of assessment and examination methods, and strategies for improving learning outcomes while meeting the requirements of modern online learning environments.

Participants also reviewed several administrative and organizational issues related to the department's operations, as well as mechanisms for communication and coordination between faculty members and the department administration. The meeting emphasized the importance of adhering to academic regulations, closely monitoring students' academic progress, and providing the academic guidance and support necessary to promote their success.

In addition, the meeting reviewed the department's academic programs and discussed a number of development proposals aimed at modernizing curricula, enhancing academic performance, and improving the educational environment in line with the University's strategic vision and future aspirations.
