Marketing Department Holds its Second Regular Meeting

The Marketing Department at the College of Economics and Business Administration, Islamic University of Minnesota - Main Center, held its second regular meeting for the third semester of the 2025-2026 academic year on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, with the participation of faculty members. The meeting was convened as part of the department’s ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of the educational process and develop academic performance.

The meeting commenced with a welcoming speech by the Head of the Department, who greeted the attendees and extended special recognition to newly joined faculty members, emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts to achieve the department’s and college’s objectives. The session included a review of the university’s academic systems, a presentation of key achievements from the previous period, as well as an overview of graduate programs and the incentive system. It also highlighted the role of the college’s academic journal and the Training and Development Center in supporting scientific research and community service.

Participants discussed the regulations governing the summer semester, including the start dates, number and duration of lectures, grading distribution, and arrangements for make-up classes. The discussion also affirmed the regular commitment of faculty members to their teaching duties. Additionally, several technical observations related to the electronic portal and the extended duration of summer lectures were addressed, with an emphasis on the need for improvement.

In the area of curriculum development, the meeting reviewed the report on the university textbook project for the course "Principles of Marketing," and approved the formation of a specialized committee to oversee its preparation. The importance of reviewing academic plans, course descriptions, and curricula in line with recent developments was also emphasized to improve learning outcomes.

At the graduate studies level, the status of Master’s and PhD students was reviewed, and a plan was established to support their academic and research progress in preparation for the upcoming academic year. A proposal to establish a departmental council, in line with the university’s governance direction, was also discussed, along with a framework for distributing administrative tasks and committee responsibilities to ensure fairness and enhance institutional efficiency.

The meeting further featured several initiatives aimed at developing academic and research programs and strengthening community engagement, with a call for greater faculty participation. Under “Any Other Business,” key topics discussed included improving the technical design of the academic journal, reviewing the incentive system, and regulating faculty assignments across departments, with recommendations to be submitted to the relevant authorities.

The meeting concluded with an emphasis on the importance of publishing in the college’s academic journal and proposing specialized training programs through the Training and Development Center. It also stressed collaboration in restructuring academic and administrative committees. The Head of the Department closed the meeting by expressing appreciation to faculty members for their efforts in supporting teaching, research, and departmental development, and reaffirmed the importance of teamwork in achieving further academic excellence.
