Scientific Seminar Discusses "Prophetic Guidance in Identifying Human Strengths"
As part of its efforts to activate research engagement among graduate students, the Deanship of Graduate Studies at the main center of the Islamic University of Minnesota, in collaboration with the Faculty of Islamic Studies and the Department of Sunnah and Its Sciences, organized a scientific seminar on Monday evening, April 20, 2026. The session was dedicated to discussing the research proposal submitted by researcher Walaa Mohammed Ali Ajinah, as part of the requirements for the PhD program.
The proposal was titled: “Prophetic Guidance in Identifying Human Strengths: A Thematic Hadith Study.” It aimed to highlight the Prophetic methodology in recognizing and developing human strengths through a thematic analysis of relevant Hadiths, with the goal of applying these insights in the fields of education and human development.
The seminar was chaired by Dr. Majed bin Obaid, Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Studies, and attended by a committee comprising Dr. Alaa Al-Hasban, Dr. Ahmed Mustafa, and Dr. Abualaz Al-Faqi.
Held via the Zoom platform, the session featured a scholarly presentation by the researcher, outlining the study’s problem, objectives, methodology, and key thematic axes. This was followed by an extensive academic discussion, during which the committee members offered constructive feedback and guidance aimed at refining the proposal and strengthening its methodological framework.
This seminar forms part of the Deanship of Graduate Studies’ ongoing efforts to support academic research and encourage specialized studies that draw on the Prophetic heritage to address contemporary human issues, thereby fostering a balanced integration between authenticity and modernity in scholarly discourse.
