PhD Seminar Examines Impact of Ethical Marketing Strategies on Market Islamization
As part of its ongoing efforts to support scientific research and enhance the quality of graduate studies, the Deanship of Graduate Studies at the Islamic University of Minnesota - Main Center organized a scientific seminar at the College of Economics and Business Administration to discuss the research proposal submitted by doctoral researcher Sami Mohamed Hanini, a PhD student in the Department of Business Administration. The proposal is entitled “The Relationship Between Ethically Committed Marketing Strategies and Market Islamization through Social Responsibility in Medium-Sized and Large Saudi Companies.”
The seminar addressed the main components of the research proposal, which seeks to examine the relationship between companies’ adoption of marketing strategies based on ethical principles and their role in promoting the concept of market Islamization through social responsibility practices, with a focus on medium-sized and large Saudi companies. The study also aims to contribute to contemporary literature in business administration and marketing and examine the role of ethical values in developing modern corporate practices.
The seminar committee was chaired by Dr. Manal Mohamed Mahmoud, Head of the Department of Business Administration, with Dr. Marwan Al-Abbas, Dr. Siham Khater, and Dr. Ali Shehata serving as committee members. The committee reviewed various scientific and methodological aspects of the proposal, including its objectives, research problem, methodology, and theoretical framework, and provided the researcher with a number of scholarly observations and recommendations aimed at developing the proposal and strengthening its academic structure.
The seminar featured a productive academic discussion highlighting the significance of the research topic amid growing interest in ethical marketing and social responsibility as important approaches to promoting sustainable development and strengthening responsible corporate practices. The discussion also addressed ways of achieving a balance between economic efficiency and adherence to Islamic values and principles.
The seminar concluded with a number of scholarly recommendations and suggestions aimed at enriching and further developing the research proposal before it proceeds to its subsequent stages, in accordance with rigorous academic research standards.
