Scientific Seminar Discusses Role of Islamic Economics in Reducing Construction Project Delays

The Deanship of Graduate Studies at the Islamic University of Minnesota - Main Center, represented by the College of Economics and Business Administration and the Department of Islamic Economics and Banking, held a scientific seminar to discuss the research proposal submitted by PhD student Mohammed Saleh Mahjoob. The proposal was titled: "The Role of Islamic Economic Principles in Mitigating Construction Project Delays: An Empirical Study."

The session was attended by a specialized academic committee chaired by Dr. Zaid Nawaf Al-Duwairi, Head of the Department of Islamic Economics and Banking, and included Dr. Raed Bani Issa, Dr. Saad Al-Din Khaled, and Dr. Umaima Ali Shaikh Al-Din Noor as members. The committee discussed various scientific and methodological aspects of the research proposal, providing a range of observations and developmental recommendations.

This seminar comes as part of the Deanship of Graduate Studies’ commitment to enhancing the quality of academic research and addressing contemporary economic issues, particularly those related to the construction sector, by highlighting the role of Islamic economic principles in offering practical solutions that help reduce project delays and improve efficiency.

The session was held on Sunday evening, April 26, 2026, via Zoom, and witnessed productive academic interaction between the committee members and the researcher, resulting in valuable guidance aimed at refining and strengthening the research proposal.
